Frequently Asked Questions
What do I have to do to parasail?
Sign up! We take care of all of the equipment and strapping in! All you need to do is board the boat. No experience is required.
Is there a minimum age to parasail?
Nope. The only requirement is a 45 pound minimum to parasail. The only restriction is that you can fit in the harness.
Will I touch the water?
Upon request to our captain, he can dip your legs in the water before you land on the boat!
When is the best time to parasail?
We strictly operate ONLY when our captain deems it safe enough. While you might see other parasails in the air, the our red, white, and blue sails won't be up unless its ABSOLUTELY safe for you! The earlier the better when it comes to making a reservation. Weather is best earlier in the day.
Do you accept credit cards?
Absolutely. Most major credit cards are accepted!
What kinds of forms do I need to fill out?
Just a couple of basic liability waivers. This typically takes just a minute or two at our tiki hut.
Where should I park?
Our guests can park at the Dolphin Beach Resort for free! Ask the beach attendant for a windshield pass.
How can I keep my belongings dry?
Our friendly beach attendants can watch them up in the tiki hut or you are welcome to leave them in your cabana while you are out on the water. Group members that aren't parasailing are welcome to kick back in our shaded cabanas while they wait (subject to availability).
How long will this take?
We suggest to set aside an hour so you don't rush. Depending on how many others are on the boat, It can take between 45 minutes to 1 hour to fly everyone. Each ride will last between 10-15 minutes.
Do I need to make a reservation or can I just show up?
Reservations are not required, but they are recommended. It is easier for us to get you on the soonest boat when we know that you are coming. But it is still super easy to get you out there if you just show up at our hut!
Do you have any deals or discounts?
To find out if your party is eligible for a discount, you'll need to call us (727-360-1998). We do have an early-bird special that gives you $5 off per person if you sign up before 10am.
We have a big party. Can we all go together?
We can fit up to 6 people on a single boat. If you have a smaller party (say 2 or 3), you could be on a boat with other people. If you have a larger party (say 5 or 6), you're more likely to have the boat to yourself.
Can we be in the air together?
That's the captain's call. He knows better than anyone the strength of the wind he is working with and he also factors in the weight of the participants to determine the safest way for people to go parasailing. Most likely, 2 go up at a time. For children and lighter patrons, possibly 3.
What should I wear?
Whatever you are most comfortable in! As a safety precaution, we'll ask that you leave your shoes with our attendant at the tiki hut.
Will I get wet?
Possibly. On a normal day, we can pick up right at the shoreline. During low tides, we might need you to wade out to the sandbar to be picked up. It all depends on what is possible at the time. However, we can hold your belongings in the hut for safe keeping!
Can I stay on the boat and watch?
Possibly. If there are rough seas, our captain might not want people bouncing around on the boat. Other than that, yes! Keep in mind, there is an extra fee for observers.
What happens if my ride gets cancelled?
If your ride is cancelled due to poor conditions, you can either be immediately refunded (cash), you transaction will be cancelled at the end of the day (credit), or you can receive a voucher for your ride to be used in the future.
